My mom has this absolute animal dyson one in the link below and LOVES it. It's great for all floor types too and isn't too bulky. You can read the reviews on target and see what people think of it that bought it, looks like it has the best 5 star rating.

If you need a cheaper one, this bissell velocity one seems to be loved by people who bought it for it's awesome suction power, and i'm getting it tomorrow.

I had 2,and my sister had two, and there absolutely useless,especially if you have pets. Sure they work OK for six months, but after that the filters block and it's you have to empty them more often.

Bissel have a great hoover on the market at the moment, go and try it and compare them at your local electrical store. :)

I had the same problem. I know Dyson has one specifically for animal hair, but I have the DC07 and I find it to do just fine. I absolutely love it! When I first got mine, I vaccuumed my livingroom and filled up the canistor 4 times! I don't think my old vaccuum cleaner had been doing much at all! I've had it for almost 3 years now, and not a problem!
