Brush him at least twice weekly and bath him at least every two weeks. He's shedding his undercoat. I'm sure the vacuum has become your best friend! But there are even shampoos that help with hair shedding.
There's this system in PetSmart called "Furmagator" or something to that effect which helps to control pet hair.
Also, look into changing his dog food. A good premium dog food can help his coat -- Innova, Precise, Candidae, etc.

First if this seems to be a significant problem or more than you think is normal take the dog to the Vet.
Hair loss in dogs can be caused by many things and even by stress...
Other wise take your Spitz outside and brush the loose hair out. You may do that every other day or so.
