I had a shepherd/malamute x that passed and I swore I'd never have another dog it tore me up so bad.

The day after I started deep cleaning my house vaccuuming up all the hair and throwing away toys and packing away pictures.For 3 straight days I was in total meltdown over the loss after I got done cleaning.I thought surely I'd never cry again.But months later I opened a box in my closet and found some stray dog hair and it the tears started again.

I was so depressed I moved so I would'nt come home and hope to see her when I opened the front door.

For almost 10 years I did not own a dog because it hurt me to think about losing another one.For all that time I went thru life feeling like something was missing.I just did'nt feel complete and I did'nt know why.I had a job,friends a social life.Then I bought a house with a huge yard already fenced and just perfect for a dog.So a couple months later I bought a german shepherd pup and as soon as I had him in the truck in my lap it became very apparent that was what was missing in my life.I felt whole again.

I still miss Sissy.She helped do laundry.

I now have 2 gsds.Both male and altho I've tried hard neither has any interest in dropping clothes in the washer.Typical.

If you're asking this because you've lost a precious pet then let me tell you what was told to me shortly after I lost mine.

YOU'RE OBVIOUSLY A DOG PERSON.YOU WON'T BE HAPPY WITHOUT HAVING AT LEAST ONE AROUND SO GO GET ANOTHER ONE.At the time I was absolutely sickened by the thought of replacing my baby.And I was very PO'd at the thought that a replacement would make it all o.k. but now I see the wisdom.

You'll never replace what you lost.No 2 dogs are exactly alike just like people.But by not getting another one you're depriving yourself as well as a 4-legged soul a happy life.

Oh heck yes! You never know what you have til it is long gone!

yeah its really hard to lose a pet. my dog sheds all over. if he died i would miss all the fur in my food and stuff. im sorry for your loss!!!!!!!! i feel for u.

This is weired but I had a dog who smelled horrible due to her skin. I mean she walked in a room and everyone else walked out. I missed that smell so much when she died.

Those two things are the farthest thing from my mind. Those things never bother me sono....The things that would have memmissing my dogs are the things that bring out there personality and who they are.

well my dad was looking through some old boxes and he found my chihuahuas collar who had passed away 2 years ago it still had his scent on it i miss him.............but luckily i have a terrier who i look after a lot since my chihuahua passed away, (accident)
