If a dog who has hair and doesn't shed mate with a dog who has fur will the resulting puppies s

No way to tell for sure.... breeding is risky business if you don't know what you're doing, and whether or not the pups will shed should be the LEAST of your worries.

If a dog who has hair and doesn't shed mate with a dog who has fur will the resulting puppies shed?

As in any crossbred dog, some puppies will get the hair of the mom, some will get the hair of the dad, and depending on the recessive genes, some may get a combination of both.

You can never tell with this. This is the classic case of the croosbreed " Labradoodle ". Some will shed others won't who knows.. Crossing 2 breeds you can never guarentee a certain result.

Huh? It depends on which is the more dominant breed. And they are mutts...it's hard to tell. You got a 50/50 chance.

There is no way to know. There is so much genetics involved- what traits are recessive, which are dominant- what genes did the dogs get, etc. It's like when humans have kids- both parents can have brown eyes, but have a child with blue or brown eyes. (Assuming both parents have 1 blue and 1 brown gene)- Genetics is fascinating, but it's very complicated. It's part of what makes breeding dogs so much work and so risky- you have to do research on the pedigrees to make sure you're making a good match.

It depends on whether the gene for shedding is recessive or dominant in the offspring.

Theres no way to tell.

There is no way to guarantee that the puppies with have specific traits. Genetics is not predetermined.

Just because you cross a poodle with a lab doesn't mean that you are going to get lab traits with poodle fur. There is a 50/50 chance that you are going to get the traits you want.

Dominant traits usually prevail over recessive traits. Just like blond hair in humans is recessive while brown hair is dominant. There is a chance the child will have blond hair, if both parents have at least one allele for the blond trait but it;s not likely

If you are thinking of breeding your dog I would advise against it. There are enough people out there trying this as a hobby and there are enough unwanted dogs in the world that need homes.

My cousins purchased a mix breed dog who was bred with a hypoallergenic dog. Her husband is allergic to dogs. Now they own a dog and he is still allergic to it.

Cross breeding is a crap shoot.
