i have a 5mth old poodle going in for her first hair cut we want to go to somewhere were it is somewhat cheap nothing like $100 and does anyone know the prices at petco or petsmart???

Petsmart is very reasonable. Recommend that you maintain a puppy cut. Usually they are about $40.

the least expensive haircuts can be given at home. you can spend a one time fee at a farm and fleet type store for clippers then get info on cuts online.

Prices will depend on your area, what kind of cut you want, and the condition of the dogs coat. Every groomer is different, every groomer charges a different price.

I can't see Petsmart/Petco charging $100 for a 5 month old dog...unless the dog is totally matted to the skin and urine/feces soaked from head to tail. I'm thinking more like $35. I do know Petsmart has a puppy package for $15, but that is not an all over hair cut...just a bath, brush and light trim (face feet tail)

Call and ask them ...but, it is hard to quote a price on a dog sight unseen but they can give you a price range Im sure.

Also..remember...you get what you pay for. If you are looking for a cheap groomer, chances are you will get a cheap grooming job. When it comes to the health and safety of your pet, I wouldn't price shop. :)

I know with my miniature poodle to get his haircut runs around 50 dollars at Petco or Petsmart. But that includes, a bath, his nails, and his teeth being brushed (maybe more I can't remember). If its a standard poodle it might be a bit more, and probably depends on where you live.
