Dog hair, do you sweep everyday?

I find that besides brushing my black lab, I still have to sweep the kitchen floor (hardwood) everyday because he still sheds so much. Is shedding worse in Spring and Fall? Only had this dog for 6 months, never had a dog before. :) Thanks.

Dogs shed the most in the spring because they are getting rid of their winter coats. It'll go on for probably about a month and then slow down. Just make sure to brush him every day with a clean brush and he should be fine.

The worst shed is now! From winter to spring then summer. I have Golden's so their fur is easier to vacuum up. Right now I'm sucking up dog fur every other day.

I also have a Dyson that is really good for getting it all. It leaves nothing behind.

if she is shedding so much then it should end soon. I find that 'zoom groom' rubber brushes are best for picking up hair. dogs normally shed like this twice a year, otherwise its just a small amount

Nothing wrong with the dog, not a medical condition, just environmental.

I have 2 labs and a GSD although I brush them regularly and every day at this time of the year I still have to brush the floors everyday sometimes 2 or3 times.As you brush the coat it gets rid of a lot of fur but also loosens a lot so it's a vicious circle just carry on with the good work grooming your dog strengthens the bond between you.

Yes, I have three dogs (one a black lab) and I have to vacuum every day (I have all wood floors). Somedays after a long day at work and all I want to do is come home and relax and then I see all the hair gathered in the corners and along the edges, I feel like I could pull my own hair out. But I vacuum it up and I pet my dogs because as much of a burden as it sometimes feels, what they give in return makes it all worth it.

And yes, it is worse this time of year and it will get better.

He's just losing his winter coat. Try giving him a bath then brushing him really good it really helps.
