We have a large German Sheppard, it is hard to vacuum it all up, is there a rake or something that would work good, to remove the majority of the hair, pick up by hand then run the vacuum?
Rake, etc..For Dog hair on carpet...?
Papino, you HAVE to get a "One Sweep Broom." My mom got me one from a TV commercial and I thought it was kind of silly, but it's actually great! It's not made out of rubber, but it's flexible, and one side is a squeegee, so I use it on my windows outside, too.
I have a Great Pyrenees, and he sheds A LOT!!! At first, I just used the broom on my hard wood floors, but I realized that it picks up the dog hair off of the carpet, too, and it's so easy! Now, I sweep up my carpeting in the family room, and then vacuum...now my vacuum isn't clogged with dog hair!
I checked and you can find it at www.asontv.com It sounds goofy, but the thing really works!

I have a black lab German Shepard mix and a basenji lab mix, their hair isn't as long as a full breed of German Shepard but it is everywhere. I use the tool from the vacuum with the brush on carpet and a scrub brush for their beds and favorite places to lie down. It gets most of it pretty quickly and then vacuum it after wards. It shouldn't take long, try it out. Good luck!
