How to help a dog get rid of a hair ball?

My dog is constantly getting sick. I know that he is always licking my other dog so there has to be a hair ball. Is there anything I can do to help him get it out?

put some vasaline like a pea size amount in his mouth if he has a hairball this will help him.

Dogs don't get hairballs like cats.

Is he sick, as in vomiting? As in coughing? As in lethargic? As in sneezing?

I assume you've taken him to the vet. What did they say?

Dogs don't really get hairballs like cats do. Him licking your other dog shouldn't have anything to do with it unless your other dog has something toxic on his fur like a flea control product. It sounds like your dog has some other health issue. I would recommend taking him to the vet.

I agree with the Vaseline, however I rub it into the paw so the dog/cat HAS to lick it off. Don't just globb it onto the paw because one flick of the paw and the Vaseline will go flying against the wall :-)

smear a good bit of molasses on his toes, this works for cats.
