Kirby by far they are expensive but last forever and pick up everything. I've had my Kirby for 12 years, never had to do anthing but replace belts and it is still going strong. and I have had a Rough coat collie and a Keeschond both house dogs not outside dogs, if you think you have hair problems look these dogs up on the computer to see how much hair I had to deal with. Kirby is your best bet and they are semi-self propelled.

I have "the animal" by Dyson. It was $500 bucks...yikes! They also have a powder by Arm%26amp;Hammer that helps loosen the pet hair before you vaccuum which I found to work pretty well. I splurged on the vaccuum, but it is soooooo worth it!

oh yes....DYSON!! Dog hair would always clog up my others (Hoover, Dirt Devil so far) and I got tired of needing to clean it out every single time I vacuumed just to keep the suction good! The only way my husband allows my dogs to come in the house is if I keep the floors clean of dog hairs sooooo he bought me my Dyson and I LOVE it! IMHO it is a must for any home wiht long haired dogs ;)
