Above is a picture of my chihuahua-yorkie mix dog. In the picture she is only about 7 weeks. She is now four months. As you can see in the picture, the hair on her chest is the yorkie side of her. That hair has started to take over the hair along her back also, and slowly up her neck. Some hairs are about 1 1/2 long, but others short. I love the longer hair, its adorable, do you think that will slowly take over? I have heard that after I fix her, her hair will grow-is that true? And is there anything I can do to make it grow?

You dog is adorable, very cute:) There is nothing you can do to affect hair growth, I am guessing the person that told you that if you fix her it will is just a person that is really for fixing dogs and they figured by telling you that they could "trick" you into fixing your dog. I am all for fixing your dogs, and think that all dogs not intended to be professionally bred should be fixed, but people should not lie in order to convince someone. Just using my experiance with dogs and looking at yours it looks like your dog will grow up with long hair. Like others have said, there is nothing you can do and with mixed breeds it is just a guess but from what I have seen with dogs is that when hair starts to grow long in different places is usually continues to the entire body.

LOL just leave it be. If it grows in great, if not, just leave it.

It looks like she'll most have sleek hair with some longer 'feathering' around her legs and rear end. I doubt she'll have a full coat like a Yorkie. Fixing her won't change her hair, and there's nothing you can do to increase hair growth.

The chihuahua in her, is it long-haired?

This is the problem with "mixed breeds". There is no guarantee about what you're going to end up with. I will agree she's a cute puppy, but only time will tell what she will turn out to resemble, as there is no breed standard for a mix.

As for the length of her hair, I would guess it probably won't get too long, as I seriously doubt the yorkie in her was show quality and that's where the longer hair is at.

There really isn't anything you can do to make the dog's hair grow. Having the dog spayed or not doesn't have anything to do with hair growth.

No one can tell you for sure, she is a mixed breed, you will just have to wait and see what happens.
