Can I trim or shave my dog's hair?

It's gotten unbelievably long around her eyes and paws. And there are no groomers where I live so...any thoughts or Ideas? So i just use a pair of scissors to trim it or what? I already brush her hair everyday.

yes you can you can also but doggy grooming kits with the clippers at walmart or a hardware store they run $20.00 to $35.00 depending on which you prefer.

You can attempt to trim it with scissors, but recruit a helper to restrain her so that you don't poke her or cut her accidentally.

I would just get some scissors and trim everythin up, you can go out and buy some expensive set but unless you have groomed your animals alot they might be hard to use. ps if your dog is really hyper you might want someone with you to help hold her still.

clippers are much safer than scissors, especially around the eyes. Your dogs hair doesn't look to bad in either pic, but if you think it is then go ahead and clip some off. Don't clip to close otherwise you get rashes and maybe even some cuts.

I TRIM MY TWO PUPS WHICH ARE BISHON FRISE DOGS ... TO GET THE EYE STUFF FROM THIER EYES THAT HARDENS I USE A LICE COMB ... I USE SCISSORS MOST DOGS DONT LIKE THE SOUND OF CLIPPERS ...I BATH THEM AFTER THIER CUT TO FLUFF THEM TOO ....IF YOU USE SCISSORS MAKE SURE ROUNDED SCISSORS AT THE TIPS A LITTLE LESS DANGEROUS ...DONT CLIP TOO SHORT AROUND THE BUTT ON DOGS IT MAY MAKE THEM ITCHY... CLEAN THIER EARS REGULARLY THEY HAVE READY WET EAR CLOTH YOU CAN BUY ....BUT FOR SURE TRIM AROUND THIER EYES SO THEY CAN SEE ...HOPE THIS HELPS JOANNE
