My dog will not let me cut his hair we just dont have to 50$ to get it cut right now?

do you have any advice for a stubborn dog who snaps at you when you cut his hair?

My dog will not let me cut his hair we just dont have to 50$ to get it cut right now?

No, it is unaccetable for any dog to snap at the owner for any reason. Consult a Canine behaviorist. BTW, a groomer will not groom a dog that bites either, how mean would that be to take your dog that bites and dump him on someone else?!

My dog will not let me cut his hair we just dont have to 50$ to get it cut right now?

Muzzle.

Or desensitize. This will take you a long time. Approach the dog with the scissors, and lay the scissors next to the dog. Give the dog a very VALUABLE (steak, hot dog, cheese) treats. Keep doing this while moving the scissors closer and closer to the dog. Then take them in your hand, reward, continue until you are able to feed the dog WHILE cutting the dog's fur.

BYB- Unfortunately, most dog owners give their biting dogs to the groomers.

put a muzzle on, and have 2 peopl help, one hold the dog, 2 cut the dogs fur, good luck!!

My dog will not let me cut his hair we just dont have to 50$ to get it cut right now?

Buy a muzzle to protect yourself but get him accustomed to the sound of the clippers, the feeling of brushes and combs. If it's a big dog, get help in calming and restraining him.

My dog will not let me cut his hair we just dont have to 50$ to get it cut right now?

Yes, don't do it, he apparently is afraid of how he will look, ha ha

no for real, be careful, you can muzzle him, is the way to teach him to sit for you..........I must warn you, some dogs do not like muzzles either

good luck

have a partner to help hold him, and feed him treats while you do it.

little dog? wrap him in a towel if your doing the head, or wrap his head in a towel if your doing his body?

My dog will not let me cut his hair we just dont have to 50$ to get it cut right now?

Like others have said.....a muzzle. You can easily make one by cutting a leg off of a pair of panty hose. Tie a slip knot, slide it over the dog's muzzle, knot side up, tighten and tie again underneath chin, then take the ends and tie behind their ears. Works great, and is soft and doesn't cause harm, providing you don't intentionally over tighten it.

My dog will not let me cut his hair we just dont have to 50$ to get it cut right now?

1)try asking it to sit and stay

2)put a treat in front of it

3)cut his hair gently

4)let him eat the treat

this works for my dog cuz he knows that if he cooperates then he gets his treat!

My dog will not let me cut his hair we just dont have to 50$ to get it cut right now?

How old is your dog and how often do you bathe him?

It sounds as if he may not be used to having a bath or being groomed?

If so, you need to acclimatize him to bath time and also give him rewards after you bath him. He needs to trust you enough to let you cut areas he feels anxious or threatened by him in some way. It takes time to do this but it's worth it to save money in the long run.

If he snaps at you then you might need to get a muzzle at first until he gets used to have his facial hair cut. He also needs to be repriminded in someway for snapping at you - if he doesn't know what he is doing is wrong, he will keep doing it.

My dog used to hate baths and getting his hair cut. But now I bathe him every two weeks and he is a good buy. No muzzle but he will behave. I usually let him rest his jaw on my palm and slowly snip away.

After bath time and he is dry he knows a treat is in hand so he runs to the pantry and wait for me to give him his snacks.

My dog will not let me cut his hair we just dont have to 50$ to get it cut right now?

Your dog is not stubborn, it is uncomfortable and afraid of having his hair cut. You need to counter condition and desensitize the dog to being clipped. Make sure you never cut or nick the dog in the process.

There is a great video on youtube showing how a dog was clicker trained in under an hour to having his nails clipped. If you have never trained your dog or learned how dogs learned new skills you should also read some good books. You'll find them here

What kind of dog is it that would be $50 for a haircut? Regardless, you need a muzzle on that dog! Also, a grooming noose attached to a grooming arm that is attached to a table. Getting the dog up on a table helps with control. Sometimes a dog has enough of a fight drive to disallow you doing anything so you have to take steps to be able to show him how to allow you to do it without him going off on you. With a muzzle, the dog should stand still (sometimes it calms them). If he thrashes, back away just a touch until he settles then when you approach move slowly. Do NOT talk to your dog. The only communication he needs is through how you touch him. Make him listen to your hands, not your voice.

Thats a bloody nuisance when they won't play ball on this one, dog groomers are extortionate in their fees as you've just found out! Get yourself some hair clippers, the ones for our own hair is what i use and you can pick a set, all combs and scissors included, up for around a tenner which is about $7 / $8 in your money! Dogs get a bit wary of being up high without sufficient control over what they're doing so do what i do - get your ironing board out! Raise it to your height and make sure its locked in safely so's it won't collapse when you sit Master Stubborn ha ha. Turn on the clippers before you start so that he know's what the noise is later on, let him sniff them and if he wants, lay them at his feet! Put him on the ironing board and comb him through as the groomer would then start snipping at his hair, the sounds of the scissors may make him on edge but perserve. Chop of his longer locks until you get to his first coat, the bit that needs shaving with the noisy clippers! This is the moment dogs go a bit hyper, they're scared is all it is but reassure him constantly - stroking him and holding him and telling him his mummys best boy, you know how they love all that praise ha ha. Turn the clippers on but don't hide them behind your back to be kind to him, he needs to see whats coming and will appreciate it. Once the clippers a whirring start on his lower flanks then work up towards his shoulders, talking to him ALL the time. KEEP telling him he's the best lad for having this done and how handsome he'll be by the end of it! If others are there with you you'll see an awful lot of eyes going skyward ha ha, they'll think you're nuts but who's having the last laugh saving $50.00??? If he should play up whilst he's on the ironing board, stay firm and consistant in your vocals, he's staying up there whether he likes it or not! He won't jump, he'll be too wary but its not cruel honest, i do it all the time and now mine just sit there no trouble. He may lay down the full length of the ironing board as defience but just put your hand under his belly and lift him up. Once he's been clipped by the shearers use the scissors to do around his eyes and ears and nails. he may let you cut his nails on the board but don't count on it! I paid a lot of money over the years for my jack/yorkie cross to have his nails cut! He'd go like a loon until last year ( he's eleven this year !!! ) when he was in the bath of all places! I checked his nails thinking - more bloody money ha ha when instead of snatching his paw away, he let me hold it and examine his ' man fridays' as i used to call them ha ha ha. I pushed my luck and grabbed the nail clippers, revelation - HE LET ME do them! Now, when his nails grow long, its into the bath for him, without the water, it has the same effect! If, at any point, he growls, show's his teeth or snaps at you, shout very loudly -NO, and carry on with what you're doing, he must not be allowed to dictate your rules mum! It may take a week to cut his hair, did me with my bischon ha ha but i got there in the end. Now, all three of my boys will sit quietly on the ironing board for their hair cuts and nail clipping bar one, he has to go in the bath ha ha. Perseverence is the name of the game here my friend, keep it up and you'll save yourself an absolute fortune, give in to the whining and snapping and you;ll be forking out for the rest of his life!!! Good luck to you.

My dog will not let me cut his hair we just dont have to 50$ to get it cut right now?

dont put yourself at risk. putting a muzzle on a dog isnt gona stop the dog from jumping around. even if you have someone hold the dog down with a muzzle on you might take a chance of really goofing up its hair. my dog had to be sedated just to take a bath. if you dont have the money right now you might need to wait until you do and have him sedated just to get it done right. dont do something you will hate later. good luck

My dog is losing a lot of his hair, I know some shedding is normal but I'm worried.?

My dog has had valley fever for about 5 mths now and lately he's been losing a lot of his hair, in clumps. I'm worried, is this normal?

My dog is losing a lot of his hair, I know some shedding is normal but I'm worried.?

The loss of hair is due to exccesive sweet intake.

Avoide giving sweet to your dog.

My dog is losing a lot of his hair, I know some shedding is normal but I'm worried.?

if it has fleas and ticks you mite want to get medical help and take it to the vet or somthing

My dog is losing a lot of his hair, I know some shedding is normal but I'm worried.?

Why would you want to color your dog. That is just crazy and not good/healthy for the dog.

That is sick and twisted! Who are you? Paris Hilton? Your dog doesn't have to match your outfit!

Food coloring works and is safe for the dog (Ingestible).

There is not a safe way to do this. You dog will naturally clean himself, therefore eating the dye. You will be poisoning your dog!

I DO NOT RECOMMEND THAT YOU DYE YOUR DOG!!!!!!

THat is horrible!!

Where can i buy safe hair dye for a dog, food coloring or vegetable dye will work? Anyone ever color their dog

Vegetable dyes, food coloring, kool aide solution which can rub off onto furniture. There is also Manic Panic but you don't want them ingesting to much of the semi permanent dyes. We used to see pink and blue toy poodles that were actually white all the time. It may not be everyone's cup of tea but it is doable.

Go to your groomer and ask people do it all the time

Where can i buy safe hair dye for a dog, food coloring or vegetable dye will work? Anyone ever color their dog

Kool-ade (sugar free!). If you're just doing a small bit of color, non-toxic markers can work. I used to have a friend who gave her American Eskimo a "gay pride" mohawk with markers - she'd do the whole rainbow!

I've used washable markers on my light colored dog before. Plus the crayola washable markers are non-toxic.

What do I do with the hair growing inside my dog's ear?

Not really inside, but you now, by, around, somewhere inside his ears. He is a Shih tzu pup and he is growing...and the hairs are making him uneasy and itchy...

Do I trim it or something? Any suggestions?

Thank you

What do I do with the hair growing inside my dog's ear?

I have a short haired dog. When I take him to shows I use my horse clippers (electric) to trim the hair inside and outside his ears. It's quick, simple, and painless.

I'm not a professional dog groomer or anything, but I would discourage you from plucking the hairs on the inside of your dog's ears. That sounds really painful/scary/uncomfortable for him.

What do I do with the hair growing inside my dog's ear?

Trim it if it is bothering him but be careful. It may be growing down into his ear you may need to pull it out.If you get your dog groomed I would tell the groomer and see what he says.

What do I do with the hair growing inside my dog's ear?

I am a professional groomer. You must pluck the hair from inside the ear canal to let air circulate. it should be pink and clean. If there are outer hairs that are making your baby itchy, use a small scissor to trim the hair just around the ear canal to keep him or her more comfortable.

What do I do with the hair growing inside my dog's ear?

There is a medicated ear powder you can put in your dogs ear,( so your fingers dont slip off the hair b/c that will hurt) then you just pull it out. And i would be careful b/c your dog may try to bite you, so i would have someone hanging around just in case. And your dog will probably scream but it doesn't hurt them.

What do I do with the hair growing inside my dog's ear?

get some hemostats and pluck the hair out a few hairs at a time. this needs to be done at least 1x per month or he will get bad ear infections.

What do I do with the hair growing inside my dog's ear?

Trim it or take him to the groomers and they will do it for you. Hair can get stuck inside their ears and cause infection. Groomers usually check for this and pull it out if it's deep in their ears.

What will happen if your dog loses hair?

get it a sweater.

What will happen if your dog loses hair?

nothing will happen, it is just shedding... all dogs do it... it is a part of life... nothing serious... if you start to get worried, take your dog to the vet.

What will happen if your dog loses hair?

Depends on why they are losing hair... they could have the mange.. and you could get it too

What will happen if your dog loses hair?

It will be bald.

What will happen if your dog loses hair?

How much hair is your dog losing? If it's normal shedding due to the summer coming on, fine. But if he/she is losing a great deal of hair, then it could be a thyroid problem and he/she needs to go to the vet.

Am I allergic to short-hair dogs?

I am an absolute pet lover and I have never had any allergies. I've had a dog as a pet since the day I was born and have had at least 9 dogs come and go in my life till the present. I currently own a wonderful 5 year old female miniature shih tzu who has semi-long hair. We bathe her at least once every three weeks to a month. I have absolutely no problems with her. About a week ago I brought home a female miniature pinscher. so far she has already taken 3 baths. whenever I hold her in my arms, the skin that has been in contact with her will become red and real itchy and sometimes gets a little bumpy. whenever she gives me kisses on my face, those parts of my face will turn red. When I brought her home I noticed she has some dandruff. Am I allergic to her dander? If so, what can i do to prevent dandruff and help moisturize her skin? and why would I be allergic to only her and not my shih tzu, or other dogs i encounter?

Am I allergic to short-hair dogs?

Yup that's a classic case of contact dermatitis (allergic reaction). Just wash the areas that have been touched as soon as possible so the bumps don't start and the itching ceases. Every pet is different so there is just something about this dog that causes the reaction. I know I react differently to my 2 cats. The "dandruff" you see probably isn't the issue but it still requires some attention. It's more likely the skin condition bothers the dog and she scratches and licks more and that's what the problem is. Her saliva is the most likely culprit.

Am I allergic to short-hair dogs?

If you take a teaspoon of LOCAL honey each day, your allergy will be CURED. The local honey works with your body to develop immunities to all the air born irritants around you like pet dander, mold, mildew, smog, and pollen. This really works but it takes a while to do so. You will also notice, over time, that you get less cold and flu symptoms as well.

Getting Blue Ink out of Dog Fur / Hair?

My Shih Tzu Puppy managed to discover a blue ink pen and chewed on it until the ink leaked out all over the carpet and the puppy - so now I have a blue puppy and stained carpet

Help!

Getting Blue Ink out of Dog Fur / Hair?

Cleaning dog...EASY! Just soap and warm water...carpet...more difficult...apply paper towel and pull at strands...then a clean one with warm soapy water...pull at strands esp. with shag carpet. I don't advise chemicals at all.

Getting Blue Ink out of Dog Fur / Hair?

try mean green on the carpet but the dog you will probably have to cut the dogs hair

Getting Blue Ink out of Dog Fur / Hair?

my puppy did that for awhile too...you're gonna want to hide all the pens, or not leave them where the pupppy can get them. All of the blue ink may not come out the first day, but don't freak out. if you use a good puppy shampoo he'll be good as new sooner than you think. also, a trick my husband uses is he used my conditioner on the puppy so if she got into anything sticky, or ink it was easier to get out the next time...good luck!

Getting Blue Ink out of Dog Fur / Hair?

Hairspray or straight rubbing alcohol will break down the ink. After that give him a bath.

Getting Blue Ink out of Dog Fur / Hair?

Wash the dog, that should help. If not you can clip her, or she'll shed out the affected hair.

How do i get rid of fleas in my carpet, and on a dog with thick hair?

MY HUSKY HAS A DOUBLE COAT OF FUR. BATHING ISNT HELPING THAT MUCH

How do i get rid of fleas in my carpet, and on a dog with thick hair?

You might have to bite the bullet and take the dog to the vet.

The vet will most likely have to shave down the dog (don't worry, Huskies and Malamutes prefer to be clean-shaven in the Summer!) and he'll have to get a flea-dip.

Your vet will most likely give you a flea bomb to set off in your house -- and you will also need to wash all your linens in hot water.

During the time the flea bomb is going off in your house you will need to be evacuated from the house for at least 48 hours (or as your vet will recommend.)

Good luck!

*Please don't prolong the treatment. Fleas can suck out a lot of blood and make your dog anemic.

How do i get rid of fleas in my carpet, and on a dog with thick hair?

buy some flea meds.may i suggest advantage.

How do i get rid of fleas in my carpet, and on a dog with thick hair?

I had this same problem with 2 cats and 2 dogs (one of them is a husky). We had our house bombed and while that was happening we had the animals dipped in a flee bath at our vet. This way when we brought the animals home after a couple hours the house was clear and all the flees were completely gone. Then I would suggest to use "Frontline" on your husky to prevent another flee infestation. Good luck!

How do i get rid of fleas in my carpet, and on a dog with thick hair?

You should start you by going to your vet and getting a flea treatment like advantage. It is a once a month treatment you apply to their coat. Then after applying that you should vacuum your entire home and throw the bag in the trash right a way. If not the fleas can get out of the bag and the eggs will hatch in the bag and infest your home again. Also you might want to have a pest control company come and spray your house and the outside areas of your home.

How do i get rid of fleas in my carpet, and on a dog with thick hair?

The best way to get fleas out of the carpet would probably be to "bomb" the house. We had to do this when we first moved into our home. We went to the pet store and bought the "Zodiac" brand of bombing. We haven't had a flea problem since. Just make sure that you read the instructions very carefully and take all the animals out of the house.

To treat you dog, before you bomb, give the dog a long flea bath. I used the Zodiac brand. Get your dog wet, then starting at the head, pour the shampoo around the neck and go down the back. Work the shampoo into a lather and allow it to sit for at least 3 minutes. You should notice fleas falling off into the water if you have a bad flea problem. I usually wait about 5 minutes (if I can keep the dog calm for long enough) to make sure the shampoo soaks in. Then, 2 days after the bath, start using a flea medicine once a month to prevet future infestations. We use Frontline Plus on our dogs.

Also, it might help if you treat your lawn with a fertilizer that also kills fleas and other insects. One flea can turn into a million in no time.

BTW: if you have cats, beware of the products you use on your dog. There are some brands (Hartz, and Bio-spot) that I have heard of that are very bad for cats.

Good luck!

How do i get rid of fleas in my carpet, and on a dog with thick hair?

but garlic in its food and boom the house

How do i get rid of fleas in my carpet, and on a dog with thick hair?

I like to use Frontline you can get it from a vet.

How do i get rid of fleas in my carpet, and on a dog with thick hair?

WITH A DOG LIKE THAT U SHOULD MAYBE SOAK HIM IN WARM WATER MAKE SURE YOU COLM HIS HAIR BACKWARDS SO THE WATER GETS INTO HIS SECOND LAYER. TAKE A FLEA N TICK SHAMPOO AND LATHER HIS COAT (ONCE AGAIN MAKE SURE YOU HAVE HIS HAIR COLMED BACKWARDS) RUB IT INTO HIS HAIR MAKE SURE ITS FOAMY LET IT SIT FOR ABOUT 5 MIN.

YOU SHOULD REPEAT ONCE A WEEK TILL YOU SEE THAT HES NOT SCRATCHIN AS MUCH- AND bomb THE FREAKIN HOUSE LOL - TRUST ME ITS PAINFUL TO WATCH YOUR DOG GET SICK FROM FLEAS BECAUSE THEY CAN REALLY HURT YOUR DOG. MY DOG SUFFERED FOR A LONG TIME FROM THAT AND I WAS YOUNG AND STUPID AND DIDNT KNOW IT COULD HAVE KILLED HER.

WELL GOOD LUCK

How do i get rid of fleas in my carpet, and on a dog with thick hair?

It is summer time, shave your husky. She will be more comfortable in the hot weather, and getting rid of her fleas will be easier. I would go to the vet for some flea prevention, like frontline or advantage. As far as your carpet, get some of the carpet powder/flea killer. And vaccum vaccum vaccum. Also, put a chunk of flea collor in every new vaccum bag. Vaccuming will get rid of most fleas anyway, but, the chunck of flea collar will kill them faster.

How do i get rid of fleas in my carpet, and on a dog with thick hair?

Add chopped garlic and brewer's yeast to the food or bake it into a treat (it's called Bye Bye Fleas and you can find it by looking up natural dog treats). Brush the dog really really well and bathe first with Dawn and then with a medicated shampoo. To get rid of them in your carpet make a mix of Borax and baking soda; sprinkle brush it in good and let it sit for a day or two then vacuum. Wash everything washable in the hottest water possible for the fabric and keep your grass as short as possible so they don't have a breeding ground.

How do i get rid of fleas in my carpet, and on a dog with thick hair?

I've had no luck getting them off my pets, however i moved into a house formerly rented by an animal control officer and the carpets were loaded with fleas. I used a flea powder found at wal-mart. i'm not sure of the name but it was cinnimmon scent and was in a container with reddish color flowers all over the front. I did it once a week for 4 weeks and didn't have a flea one plus my house stayed smelling nice. and no washing everything from flea bombs.

How do i get rid of fleas in my carpet, and on a dog with thick hair?

The dog can be taken to your Vet for a hair cut and flea dip. While gone bomb the house and spray the yard with a good flea killer. Apply Front line per the Vets instructions. You may see a few fleas after but they should be sterile. If re infestation occurs, within a few weeks, you may have to bomb the house and spray the yards again. Another consideration is under the house. If you have cement slab floors the above will work. if you have sub flooring and a space under the house, fleas will breed there if not treated.

How do i get rid of fleas in my carpet, and on a dog with thick hair?

ortho 7 dust, get it at home depot about $10.00 for a 5 lb bag. spread on the carpet and under the furniture in the evening when you get up in the morning vaccuum. do this twice a week for 4 weeks. flea eggs take 5-21 days to hatch depending on the weather conditions, you can also use this directly on the adult dog or cats coat.

What can i do for my dog drop hair because my house got his hair anywhere.?

You can buy some thinning shears from pet stores (local or online) and it will help, as well as taking to have him trimmed.

What can i do for my dog drop hair because my house got his hair anywhere.?

Shave him down.

What can i do for my dog drop hair because my house got his hair anywhere.?

Brush him.

What can i do for my dog drop hair because my house got his hair anywhere.?

Vacuum at least once a week and brush your dog daily.

Shedding is a fact of life for most dogs. The more you brush, the more hair will be caught in the brush and not make it to the house. If your dog seems to be shedding excessively, more than usual, or at an unusual time of year, you might want to see your vet. Various things can make a dog shed more than normal. Poor diet, stress (nervousness), and various illnesses could all be the culprit.

But if your dog is just a normal, hairy dog, brush brush brush and vacuum what's left behind. There are also supplements you can find at any pet store or on-line catalog that are supposed to reduce shedding, but I don't know how well they work.

We brush our dog with a special brush that is meant to get stray hairs from the undercoat everyday/every other day depending on what results we got the day before.

At first the dog didn't like it at all but now its our special bonding time where she can just lie down and be "petted" for a while. House stays cleaner, she gets more love- its a dual winner!

Can i make my dog's hair long?

Sorry a dog's coat(hair) has to do with the breed of dog. Not a think you can do about it. It's the same as humans we are who we are.

Can i make my dog's hair long?

No, you cannot make his hair grow, they only shed, it doesnt grow out like Humans. Same thing as asking if you can make yourself taller.

Can i make my dog's hair long?

Hair extensions! If it's a short hair dog it's the only way to go...Good luck with that;^)

Can i make my dog's hair long?

It's either in the genetics or it's not. If it *is* a coated dog there are things you can do to encourage a long healthy coat...a good diet, regular (but proper) brushing and baths, etc. A dirty and tangled/matted coat will never reach it's full potential.

What can I use to safely remove stains from my pet dog's (poodle) hair?

What kind of stains??

A whitening shampoo may help. You may have to clip the hair off, or you may have to let the stain fade. Depends.

What will stop my dog casting hair,?

All dogs with few exceptions shed. Especially at the change of seasons. A diet with rich EFA (fatty acids) can slightly reduce shedding and make a better haircoat, bothing an prevent it. Dogs have a winter and a summer coat and they shed seasonally as well as shed throughout the year to replenish old hair.

Daily brushing will allow you to control where the hair goes. Daily brushing eliminates 90% of the shedding if you keep up with it and is a nice time to bond with your pet. But skip even a day and the shedding will be back.

Some breeds can be taken to the groomer to be shaved and cropped. This often helps with shedding as the old coat is removed there and the hair is shortened a lot so it brushes easier.

What will stop my dog casting hair,?

ell him to stop it

What will stop my dog casting hair,?

"castring"? Do you mean shedding? If so, only certain breeds do not shed; most do. If your dog sheds a lot, try brushing him/her more often. You should try to brush your dog daily. This keeps their coat %26amp; skin healthy; it also reduces shedding %26amp; builds the bond between the two of you. During season changes, their coats often shed more also.

What do you do for dry skin on a dog with short hair?

try using oatmeal shampoo

What do you do for dry skin on a dog with short hair?

As already suggestd, and aloe, or oatmeal shampoo is good, but not more than every two weeks, followed by a liberal dosing with an unscented hypo=allergenin conditioner, worked down to the skin. Rinsed with cool water after letting it sit on the dog for about 5 minutes. Do NOT use a hair dryer, but instead, rub vigorously with towels until they come up dry. This will give the added benefit of increasing surface circulation which will help skin become healthier.

What do you do for dry skin on a dog with short hair?

Use real oatmeal to rinse your dog with after a bath.I put about 1 cup of uncooked oatmeal in a tubesock, soak it then squeeze the liquid on your dog and massage the liquid into the skin.Don't rinse it out.It helps my dog AND it even helps people with dry skin.

i hope he gets better

My dog (Staffy) has lost a patch of hair on his shoulder.?

My dog started getting irritated on the top of his shoulder. Now he has lost a patch of hair about 5cm by 5cm, now it has gotten worse and has lost his hair all down that leg. it is not irritating him that much, he hardly scratches it but often i see him licking it. The area is not red and does not look to be infected. Does any1 out there know what to do with it? Any good recommended creams, tablets?

My dog (Staffy) has lost a patch of hair on his shoulder.?

And what did the vet have to say about it?

My dog (Staffy) has lost a patch of hair on his shoulder.?

What kind of food does your dog eat? May be allergies to the food and he has Hot Spots. If that's the case Wellness, Innova, and Solid Gold makes food for animals with allergies. A good one to try if your dog like fish is the Fish and Sweet Potato by Wellness.

If that is the case that he has allergies and you switch his food you should see a big difference in his coat and stools in about two weeks time. Remember to ween him off his old food though. Good Luck :)

Does anyone have any tips for taking dog/cat hair out of carpets and rugs?

Discovered by accident today that those mitts you get for brushing dogs with (plastic peaks on one side and leather on the other), are brilliant at doing this. Does anyone have any other tips?

Does anyone have any tips for taking dog/cat hair out of carpets and rugs?

Hi Silver Lady :) I found this thing at Target about a year ago called "one sweep." I know there was an infomercial for it too. It really is magic! I think it was only ten dollars, and it works SO much better than vacuuming. I wouldn't waste your time or energy using tape or something silly like that on an entire floor. Check it out :) Good luck!

Oh, here's the web site:

http://www.theonesweep.com/?directLoad%26amp;u...

Does anyone have any tips for taking dog/cat hair out of carpets and rugs?

go over it with strips of sellotape and remove

Does anyone have any tips for taking dog/cat hair out of carpets and rugs?

Have you tried hoovering ?

Does anyone have any tips for taking dog/cat hair out of carpets and rugs?

They have those roller sticky things for lint on your shirt which I have found helpful

Does anyone have any tips for taking dog/cat hair out of carpets and rugs?

They now have a huge roller like the ones that have adhesive tape on them that you use on your clothes, but you use it on the carpet. I think Home Depot sells them.

About two feet wide.

A bag vacuum is better than bagless. You need at least 12 Amps. Sharp makes the best one but hard to find as it isn't sold at most stores.

Does anyone have any tips for taking dog/cat hair out of carpets and rugs?

I have a steam cleaning machine which has an attachment for carpets its brilliant as it collects them altogether. You can never lift them all with a vacuum cleaner

Does anyone have any tips for taking dog/cat hair out of carpets and rugs?

Hoover

Does anyone have any tips for taking dog/cat hair out of carpets and rugs?

Use a quality vacuum like an Oreck or a Dyson.

Does anyone have any tips for taking dog/cat hair out of carpets and rugs?

trainers work well, ie wearing one scrap your foot along the carpet - get in one pile then hoover up

PS I do my sofa with one of those mitts or a dustpan and brush - much better than a hoover

Does anyone have any tips for taking dog/cat hair out of carpets and rugs?

if u get celetape and wrap it wiv the sticky side out around ur hand, get on ur knees and just pat the carpeted area which will lift the more difficult hairs after hooverin

Does anyone have any tips for taking dog/cat hair out of carpets and rugs?

stretch a stocking over the brush end of a broom and it works like a static broom. move it over ur carpet and it will attract all the hair.

Does anyone have any tips for taking dog/cat hair out of carpets and rugs?

nope no nonka

Does anyone have any tips for taking dog/cat hair out of carpets and rugs?

Elbow grease with hard brush on a vacuum cleaner.

Does anyone have any tips for taking dog/cat hair out of carpets and rugs?

A Dyson hoover, always does the trick.

Does anyone have any tips for taking dog/cat hair out of carpets and rugs?

Wash, dry w/ some sort of anti-static dryer sheet, vacuum again, then use an adhesive lint roller. I know Walmart sells them......

Does anyone have any tips for taking dog/cat hair out of carpets and rugs?

If your hoover doesn't do this job, you don't have a good enough hoover!

(try a Dyson)

Does anyone have any tips for taking dog/cat hair out of carpets and rugs?

I think the best invention ever was a pair of gloves that you use for the dishes,(Marigolds) put them on, dampen them with water, and just move your hands back and forward over where you want to lift the fluff , hairs etc:

I keep a pair especially beside my ironing board because if you are like me, you are just ready to iron your favourite dark top, or trousers, skirt etc: when you see it is covered in dog hairs, so before you iron, dampen the gloves and run your hand over the item and hey presto no hairs.

Tried and tested many a time.

So if you are feeling energetic, get on your hands and knees and have a good workout at the same time, lots of luck. LOL

Does anyone have any tips for taking dog/cat hair out of carpets and rugs?

have you tried putting on a rubber glove and just rubbing it over the carpet/mat? this is great for it too! I think the static has something to do with it, cos the hairs just stick to the rubber glove

Does anyone have any tips for taking dog/cat hair out of carpets and rugs?

I'm with Lisa T....the day I got my long-haired second dog, I also bought a Dyson hoover. It is keeping my carpets in good shape but I have to hoover every day.

Does anyone have any tips for taking dog/cat hair out of carpets and rugs?

Hi, this really is the best. I get a cloth, an old towel torn up, or something thick works best, dip it into some hot water and then wring out. I then wipe it on my stair carpet. It comes up like new, and really gets right down into the pile. If you add some essential oil, it also gives a lovely smell and helps to deter insects from setting up camp in your home. You also get a workout thrown in.

Does anyone have any tips for taking dog/cat hair out of carpets and rugs?

Meile do a vacuum cleaner called Cat %26amp; Dog. It's expensive and the filter needs replacing quite alot but it gets up every hair - even the ones that seemed to be permanently stuck to the parcel shelf in my car!

What's the easiest way to trim a dog's face hair?

I have my baby hold still, grab the hair that needs to go, and cut if off with a pair of household scissors. Just make sure you round it right and make it even. They tend to look quite odd if you don't, take my word for it. It isn't that difficult but if your dog is, grab an electric shaver and trim it that way while you keep a death grip on the dog with your legs and hold his head with your free arm. Good luck and happy grooming!!

What's the easiest way to trim a dog's face hair?

I just take scissors and a small toothed comb and did it

What's the easiest way to trim a dog's face hair?

If you use sissors they should have blunt ends so as to not poke the dogs eye out

What's the easiest way to trim a dog's face hair?

I would never do this. I think trimming a dog's face hair is cruel.

What's the easiest way to trim a dog's face hair?

Be very careful not to cut close to the skin, with all of that hair it is sometimes hard to see where the hair ends and the skin begins. As a Vet Tech. I have seen countless dogs that had to get stitiches because someone didn't realize they were too close and ended up cutting the dog badly.

What's the easiest way to trim a dog's face hair?

I let my LHasa's beard grow just long enough for me to hold on to. Now I can hold her still and trim her face with the clippers without getting bit. She doesn't fight me as much now either.

What's the easiest way to trim a dog's face hair?

Scissors

Why would a dog lose hair only on his sides?

I agree with the other poster that you need to call the vet.\

But here are some theories:

1) The dog may be pulling it out himself (sensitive skin itches, etc.)

2) It may be falling out if his hormones are out of balance.

Why would a dog lose hair only on his sides?

No idea but maybe you should consult your vet ASAP

Why would a dog lose hair only on his sides?

Perhaps it's mange, or possibly allergic to flea bites??? My sister-in-law's dog lost the hair on his butt and sides and it was because of flea bites... he basically chewed himself raw in those areas.

Either way you should consult a vet.

Why would a dog lose hair only on his sides?

becuse he getting old

Why would a dog lose hair only on his sides?

My dog is losing his hair on his sides due to the fact that he constantly is scratching himself, biting himself, and rubbing against things. He has dry skin and is allergic to fleas. One flea on him drvies him nuts. I would consult the vet though in case it is something serious. At least give your dog a bath, it could only help.

Why would a dog lose hair only on his sides?

It's usually a skin irritation or allergy. My cairn terrier used to lose the hair on both hind quarters every spring. The vet treated him with allergy pills and anti-itch medicine like hydrocortisone. Also, a flea allergy can make them lose their hair where they've been bitten. You should take your dog to the vet, it may be very uncomfortable for him and the vet can give him some relief.

Why would a dog lose hair only on his sides?

He could have allergies that are only causing that area to itch and he is scratching the hair out. On the other hand it may could be that he has the MANGE...which is not good. Get him to a good Vet ASAP.

Why would a dog lose hair only on his sides?

Sounds like it could be sercoptic mange is the skin dry there a vet can do a skin scrap to test it and if it is you will have to get dips antibiotics etc

Why would a dog lose hair only on his sides?

It might be hotspots...does he chew his sides ? if he does they have stuff at the puppy shop called sour apple spray...its natural. if its not chewing...see your vet right away

Why would a dog lose hair only on his sides?

If he is not malnourished he may have fleas and be rubbing against rough things like trees.

Why would a dog lose hair only on his sides?

he is rubbing his sides on something. do you have a chain link fence? notice any wear patterns on trees in the yard?

Why would a dog lose hair only on his sides?

Several things could be happening, though a vet could tell you better which it is.

1) The dog is malnourished. That doesn't necessarily mean underfed: It only means that some needed nutrients are missing, either because they're not there or because he can't absorb him

2) The dog is sick.

3) The dog is suffering from allergies.

4) The dog could actually have some kind of skin condition.

In any case, you'll want to talk with a vet about it.

Good luck!

Why would a dog lose hair only on his sides?

have the vet check for a thyriod problem. do a free t4 and a total t check on the blood.

Why would a dog lose hair only on his sides?

I have have had two dobermans with this problem and have been to the vet on numerous occasions. My vet advised me that its called seasonal alopecia and that the hair can grow back at any time, but without seeing your dog i wouldn't like to say for sure.It started on my dogs like a small bald patch on both sides at the waist, the patches start getting bigger but not very big, theres no itching or redness and it doesn't bother them.At this moment in time im still waiting to see signs of the hair growing back, its been a few years now.So for your peace of mind i would ask your vets advice on this.Good luck.

I want to get a somewhat large dog with short hair. So many to choose from ...what do you suggest?

Hmmm....kind of an open question, lacking in information. A lot of details should be considered....what sort of activity level are you looking for? How much experience do you have with dogs....are you up for a more strong willed assertive dog, or do you need something that will bend over backwards to try to please you? How much time do you have available to spend with the dog each day? Now, for myself, just with your criteria....I love the swissies. A friend of mine breeds and shows them, and they are cool dogs. High energy, yet very trainable, not to mention big and gorgeous. But that's JMHO.

I want to get a somewhat large dog with short hair. So many to choose from ...what do you suggest?

Lab, Boxer.

I want to get a somewhat large dog with short hair. So many to choose from ...what do you suggest?

Go to a shelter - half the dogs there fit that description! I'd suggest a small pittie-mix.

I have to wonder, why purebred? There are so many great dogs dying in the shelters, millions a year, that need a home. Purebred animals make up 25% of the shelter population. Please adopt.

I want to get a somewhat large dog with short hair. So many to choose from ...what do you suggest?

if you are looking for something that doesn't shed your dog is a labradoodle. they are great adorable and very loyal. my grammie has one. they are great and learn fast.

Jacob agrees!! A Great Dane!

They are so sweet!

I want to get a somewhat large dog with short hair. So many to choose from ...what do you suggest?

laborder retriever are so sweet great w/ children and are easy to train but have medium hair

I want to get a somewhat large dog with short hair. So many to choose from ...what do you suggest?

I have a German Shorthaired Pointer, he's full grown at 70lbs, but I think they can range from about 60 to 80. He's short haired-but why do you want that...they save you money on grooming certainly but they also shed a lot, i think any short haired breeds do, i know labs shed like crazy!!

Anyway, the pointer is a great breed, but they are energetic. Mine likes to go to the dog park to play with other dogs, but he's also satisfied with playing fetch with a ball or disc in the back yard. And I also have a springer so they get lots of energy out playing with each other.

But as another person said, it really depends on your lifestyle as to what type of dog you should get and there's a lot more to consider than just the hair length because there are a lot of short haired breeds out there with different personalities.

Good luck!

I want to get a somewhat large dog with short hair. So many to choose from ...what do you suggest?

Dalmations are nice and easy to train

I want to get a somewhat large dog with short hair. So many to choose from ...what do you suggest?

Too many short haired breeds out there for me to recommend one for you with so few details, but just a friendly FYI, short hair does not always mean less shedding. My very first dog looked like some kind of bully mix, and had very short fur, but it got everywhere and worked it's way into fabric like short little needles. The dog I have now is a long haired Akita, and although he has a long double coat of fur I find his hair much easier to deal with as it kind of pills up when you rub it off your clothes or furniture. When I give this boy a hug I don't worry so much that I will come away covered in fur as his hair tends to fall out in tufts, not one hair a a time that floats everywhere. He needs way more grooming the my first girl though, so if that is what is at issue I like...Boxers, Rottweilers, and Dobermans myself, but other people have some great other breeds mentioned as well. You need to know if you want a working breed dog or not, and what kind of breed best suits your life style, so once you narrow down your list a bit, find out a lot about each one and think about the home and time you have to give your dog to help you choose.

Sorry I added the shedding stuff, I just hear from friends some times that they want a short hair dog so the have less hair in the house, or less allergies or whatever, and it doesn't work out like that all the time, so I add it out of habit. I would not want a Husky in Florida either :)

Why does a dog's hair stink when it gets wet?

That's a very nice thing about the breed that I raise. their hair doesn't stink when wet. I'm gonna research and see if i can find out why others do... I'll post here if I find.

Ok, here it is..Getting wet activates, or stimulates the odor of sebum (oil on the surface of skin) . Also bacteria grow in the skin oils, and that is why some dogs smell stronger than others.

I breed Afghan hounds, and they have no wet dog odor, so must have very little skin oil. Its a good thing, because I live where it rains 110 inches per year!

Why does a dog's hair stink when it gets wet?

Everything smells when wet, some odors are more pronounced.

What can you do to keep a dog from shedding hair all over the house?

Select Nu Image is a coat suppliment made for horses that works AWSOME on dogs. I breed catahoulas ( blue leopard in color) and it makes them shine like they are made of silver and adds all of the vitamins and fatty acids needed for a healthy coat. I have been using it for about a year now, and it has cut the loose dog hair around the house to non existant (i allow my spayed female and my stud in most of the day with our rottie(a retired service animal) It is 100% Healthy for dogs ( i got my vet started on it!). The dosage for horses is 2 scoops per day, I give each dog 1 scoop mashed in with 1/2 can of wet food (loaf style works better) It basicly makes a big meatball that they wolf down. This is something that you have to fix from the inside

What can you do to keep a dog from shedding hair all over the house?

Regular brushing will reduce the shedding all over the house but nothing will stop it.

What can you do to keep a dog from shedding hair all over the house?

you can eliminate some of the problem by brushing your dog everyday, if this dog is an indoor dog then that is all you can do. you can't just make them stop shedding! You could also try shaving them, but that is only temporary! Just as long as you brush your dog and keep well groomed and vaccuum your house often, the problem will light up. there probably will still be a little bit of hair in your home, but not as bad... good luck...

What can you do to keep a dog from shedding hair all over the house?

nothing....... just vacuum a lot

What can you do to keep a dog from shedding hair all over the house?

washing and brushing your dog will help. you should ask your vet to.

What can you do to keep a dog from shedding hair all over the house?

You can brush your dog often. Shaving won't resolve the issue, it will only make the hair they shed shorter. You can also use remoisturer conditioners, they help with reducing shedding. But nothing will stop shedding. It's a dog they tend to do those things.

What can you do to keep a dog from shedding hair all over the house?

There are supplements available to ease shedding but brushing daily is a good idea as well.

What can you do to keep a dog from shedding hair all over the house?

Brush daily, and also use a shedding comb, you can pick one up for 4 or 5 bucks at wal mart.something else that helps cut down on shedding sometimes,is adding more omega fatty acids to your dogs diet.Canned salmon is a good food to supplement with, dogs love it,and its rich in omegas.I have noticed a big difference in my Labs shedding since I started feeding it to her a year ago.You can also buy supplements in pill and spray form at most pet stores.

What can you do to keep a dog from shedding hair all over the house?

shave the dogs hair shorter give a bath and brush fur daily

What can you do to keep a dog from shedding hair all over the house?

If you have a breed that sheds its fur, it is going to shed. That is what they do. They do it twice a year in most climates. The only way to manage the mess is to brush the dog every day and dispose of the fur that comes off in the brush so it doesn't get all over the house. Get a "rake" style brush and if the dog will allow it, brush him first in the direction of fur growth for a bit to get all the loose fur, and then brush one or two strokes, reasonably deeply to get down to the base of the fur shaft but not so deeply that you are scratching the skin, BACKWARD - from tail to head. Start about one inch from the base of the tail and go up to the crown of the head. Don't try to do this with his "feathers" - the longer fur along the backs of his legs. He's not going to sit still for that. Many dogs will not allow you to brush them backward. If your dog gets upset about it, it is probably best to let him be. It is not a comfortable thing for the dog, and grooming should be an enjoyable experience for him, not something he dreads.

Good luck.

What can you do to keep a dog from shedding hair all over the house?

get a short hair they never shed and about your dog there is nothing you can do about it its natural

What can you do to keep a dog from shedding hair all over the house?

Wash your dog frequently, they shed a lot, and there is no full proof way to stop them from shedding unless you shove them in to a plastic bag, the best thing you can do is to wash them and brush them weekly, its good for the dog, and kinda fun!

What can you do to keep a dog from shedding hair all over the house?

Kick 'em outside!

Just kidding. Get yourself a Furminator Comb. I have one that I use on my dogs and cat and it works great!! They also have treats and shampoos you can give your pet that is supposed to help their skin and coat be healthier.

http://www.furminator.com/

They are definitely worth the money! You can also find them on Ebay for a little cheaper than the suggested retail stores Furminator.com suggests. I bought mine from http://www.healthypets.com/

Good Luck

What can you do to keep a dog from shedding hair all over the house?

keep him out side.

What can you do to keep a dog from shedding hair all over the house?

Another option, in addition to the ones given already, is to take your dog to a groomer that performs a "lo-shed" groom. This entails using a special technique with the high-velocity dryer and thick creme rinse that helps get rid of a lot of coat. They'll follow this up with a really good brush-out, and in my experience helps out a LOT. Unfortunately, "blowing coat" is a seasonal thing, and this is the time of year for it. Good luck!

What can you do to keep a dog from shedding hair all over the house?

Give up! If you don't want hair in the house, don't get a dog. I have two golden retrievers, so I live with A LOT of fur! Getting rid of the carpet and putting down hardwood flooring helped because it's easier to get the fur off the floor.

You can also collect the extra hair and find someone who spins. I have a pair of mittens I knitted from yarn spun from my golden's blown coat. Very soft and very warm, except I have to keep them away from him -- he tries to eat them!!

Why is my dog's hair falling?

I have a labrador and i noticed that her fur is falling alot, since when i touch her lots of fur tend to stick to my hand. And also one time, we gave her a bath and afterwards, i saw lots of her fur on the floor and it was like cotton..lol. anyway i was just wondering why this happens and if this is normal

Why is my dog's hair falling?

Labradors have two coats, and outer coat, and an undercoat. The undercoat keeps them drier in water, which is why they are good for hunting, especially in water. They were bred to retrieve ducks and other small game.

They do shed, especially in the heat of summer. Keep her bathed and combed. Brush-outs will really help. You'll either comb it out and throw it away or constantly be sitting on dog fur on your furniture.

Why is my dog's hair falling?

Yes this is normal, i have a lab. they just naturally shed. My sister also has a lab and the labs hair is everywhere. Dont worry at all it is perfectly normal.

Why is my dog's hair falling?

Yeah, she needs to be brushed far more often, and add some Omega 3 oils to her diet.

Why is my dog's hair falling?

yes. it,s normal. Just bring your dog to DOG klinik. When they inject it,s will ok.

Why is my dog's hair falling?

Labs have 2 coats, so depending on where you live, it could be shedding it's summer coat. If you brush your lab weekly then elinminate that. I would get it checked for thyroids... if it's face is getting fuller and the dog is gaining weight check it's blood level.

Why is my dog's hair falling?

It's called SHEDDING. Maybe the reason your dog is SHEDDING is beacuse it's SHEDDING season.

Why is my dog's hair falling?

its getting old!!!

Why is my dog's hair falling?

labs shed- ALOT! It is natural. If it is a problem get a fine bristle brush and brush her daily! Keeps her coat healthy, your home cleaner, and is GREAT bonding time!

Is it true that if you use dog shampoo, your hair will grow longer?

I use is every other shampoo and my hair is thicker and has grown almost 2 inches in 6 weeks. You can also go to a Beauty Supply store and they have different brands that will help also. Hope this helps you.

Is it true that if you use dog shampoo, your hair will grow longer?

no but the following will help hair growth

1.) Seaweeds, help stimulate the thyroid and give minerals for the proper health of the hair

2.) Spinach is great for the hair, contains lots of minerals,as are all the green vegetables.

3.) Protein your hair is made of protein so make sure you are getting it in either animal or vegetable form such as fish,chicken,beef,legumes,nuts... and cheese.Or protein drinks.

I have tried give my dog a hair cut and blow dry my dogs coat but she hates it, any tips!?

Does she hate the blow dryer or the cuts or both? She may hate the blow dryer because of the high pitch noise (we can't hear it), or she may hate the feeling. Is it too hot, maybe? You could give her a benadryl before to calm her down. Also, if she hates the cuts as well, you have to let her know who the boss is from the start. Don't go against the grain of her fur and don't use a stiff wire brush. Get a zoom groom from Pet Smart or Petco. Also, make sure that you aren't poking her accidentally. If you are using blades, make sure that you use the proper blade for the area you are doing. Be gentle, yet firm, and don't pamper her during the process because she knows she has won then.

I have tried give my dog a hair cut and blow dry my dogs coat but she hates it, any tips!?

Yes.....leave the dog alone.

I have tried give my dog a hair cut and blow dry my dogs coat but she hates it, any tips!?

I can only tell you one thing , don't cut the nails after bath , my dog hides under the bed when i run my shower she knows she might get a bath , it's not the bath its the nails !!! I have stopped doing it the same time now and it hasn't gotten any better yet. good luck.

I have tried give my dog a hair cut and blow dry my dogs coat but she hates it, any tips!?

get in tub with animal and play even do a bubble bath take a favorite toy and do not make the water to deep even a few treats you do not give other wise when good praise and give treat, then you get out leave dog in talking to it all the while, then once out let it air dry the blower frightens them, let dog see you blow dry your hair then it might let you sample dry theirs.

I have tried give my dog a hair cut and blow dry my dogs coat but she hates it, any tips!?

My dog never has really dug the blow drying part. I just kind of hold her firmly and talk to her. She has gotten a little better, and now she sits more patiently. She waits for me to say, ok go play, then she runs around like a wild bull! So cute!

I have tried give my dog a hair cut and blow dry my dogs coat but she hates it, any tips!?

i had a lhasa apso that was much the same way. talk to your vet, they can provide you with a mild tranquilizer to administer before bath time. you also may consider a professional groomer, but again the tranquilizer may still be necessary.

I have tried give my dog a hair cut and blow dry my dogs coat but she hates it, any tips!?

You have to make everything fun. And it's best to start when the dog is very young. If you get the pup used to baths and noises from a hair dryer, she won't mind it later. But if she's older and already developed an aversion to both, then try as you might, you probably won't have a lot of luck. Dogs can be very stubborn.

You could try a professional groomer and see if that helps. Going to a new place could be exciting. Bring lots of her favorite treats too. Your dog might associate going to the groomer with delicious treats - and that association might be so strong that she won't mind the bath, hair cut and hair dryer.

If that is too much $$, some professional groomers have areas where the owner can give his/her dog a bath himself (for a fee, of course). The bigger space might also calm your dog (as opposed to a small tub and bathroom). Again, keep the treats coming.

Also, if you are the "alpha" in the house, even if your dog hates it, by being a dominant alpha she will agree to your will and tolerate the bath, hair cut and drying. So you may also want to look into some obedience training for her (and you).

That's about it. If none of this works (and honestly, if she's properly obedience trained already and you still have this problem, it may be time for a refresher class for both of you), then you'll just have to find some way to make the event fun for her. For example, she probably hates the noise of the hair clippers and blow dryer. So towel dry her (dogs usually love that) and clip her hair with scissors when wet and let her dry naturally. It might be more work with scissors, but now the experience is better for both of you.

Good luck!

How can I make my chichuhua dog stop shedding hair?

You can't make it stop, but you can brush him/her regularly to limit the stray hair

How can I make my chichuhua dog stop shedding hair?

you cant stop it, this is what dogs do. you can reduce it by brushing everyday with a curry brush, give baths and blow drying, and by feeding a high quality diet

How can I make my chichuhua dog stop shedding hair?

NO! All dogs shed as we all know! Brush the dog daily and it can help with the shedding since all the dead hair will come off on the brush instead of your furniture.

How can I make my chichuhua dog stop shedding hair?

you cant that is what usually happend to all dogs

How can I make my chichuhua dog stop shedding hair?

u dont stop shedding

but u cna minimize it by btushing ur dog daily

How can I make my chichuhua dog stop shedding hair?

It is a very simple solution you go to pets mart and buy this special brush or you could go to petco or any other big pet supply store and always use the brush every day and wash the dog a lot.

How can I make my chichuhua dog stop shedding hair?

you can buy one of those deshedders at petco/petsmart %26amp; maybe walmart. Or you can buy this food sauce called

shed-X you pour a litlle bit on your dogs food. %26amp; it helps your dog shedd less. also at the 1st two stores listed above.

How can I make my chichuhua dog stop shedding hair?

You can't, next time buy a dog that doesn't shed.

How can I make my chichuhua dog stop shedding hair?

I agree with everone else, it is normal for dogs to shed hair. You can help by the regular grooming duties like burshing, bathing, (even using a dog conditioner helps their coat too), and the best dog food for your type of dog. Also, you can go to a local Petsmart in your area, and they have these fatty acid tablets (basically oil tablets) that help minimize the shedding too. There are different brands so make sure you compare them to find what you want, and also make sure you follow the directions very carefully. Do not give more than the recommened dose, it will cause your dog to have the runs. Ok, last tip, some say you can try giving your dog 2 tablespoons of olive oil once a week also. I prefer the oil tablets. Try different methods to see what wrks best for you and your dog. So, really you can't stop the shedding, but if you are willing to put in the work (and or little extra money), you can help minimize it. I hope this helps.

How can I make my chichuhua dog stop shedding hair?

All dogs shed but you can help minimize the shedding by proper diet. Read labels avoiding corn and by product. Many commercial foods we may think are great but when reading the ingredients you will see differently. Once the dog eats a proper diet, you will see a big difference in its coat. Some brushing and baths also help eliminate the loose hair.

On animal crossing wild world ds, is there a dog that comes that will change your hair style?

On the website of animal crossing they make it seem like there is a pink dog that comes and chenges your hair. How can i get her to come to my village?

On animal crossing wild world ds, is there a dog that comes that will change your hair style?

You need to get the final upgrade to Nook's shop. To do this, you need to spend 240,000 bells (the amount you sell to him also counts towards this total) and you need to have a visitor (either wifi or DS to DS) come and buy something from your Nookway. The next day Nook will upgrade, and you will have a Shampoodles in there - the hairdressers. Have fun!

On animal crossing wild world ds, is there a dog that comes that will change your hair style?

you have to get tom nook's final store upgrade. Once he builds "Nookington's" as it's called, there will be a room in the back where the pink dog will come to change your hairstyle.

*to upgrade tom nook's place, buy lots of things!*

On animal crossing wild world ds, is there a dog that comes that will change your hair style?

On animal crossing wild world ds, is there a dog that comes that will change your hair style?

Get the final upgrade of nooks shop It's called nookington's once you get that it costs 3,000 bells to get a hair cut and you can get different hair colors even!

On animal crossing wild world ds, is there a dog that comes that will change your hair style?

Well I have been playing Animal Crossing DS for a very long time now. I have researched so much. And know my sources. So all the answers I give you are correct. So about the hair thing. Keep buying stuff from Tom Nook at his store and he will finally upgrade to his final store 2-story NOOKINGTONS. It took me a while to get to it though. It's really cool! And has a hair salon with the pink poodle that will re-do your hair for 3,000 bells.

What can i do for a dog that sheds hair all the time.she lives inhouse?

First, start with brushing on a regular basis - daily is best. This will get all the loose hair out *before* it ends up all over your furniture and clothing. Also feed a high quality diet. For more information on how to choose a high quality dog food, check out the articles on http://www.dogfoodproject.com/ This is a great resource for learning how to read labels and choose the best quality dog food that your money can afford.

I have a Golden Retriever who sheds twice a year: January through June and July through December. I feel your pain. I actually vacuum my dog occasionally. I attach the hose to the vacuum and sit down on the floor with him. He loves being vacuumed and thinks it's a massage. If your dog is already afraid of vacuums, it might take some patience, positive reinforcement, and practice, but I'm sure your dog will grow to love it too.

What can i do for a dog that sheds hair all the time.she lives inhouse?

Get a proper grooming brush and brush her everyday, this will remove all of the loose hairs in her coat. Will reduce the amount she sheds.

What can i do for a dog that sheds hair all the time.she lives inhouse?

Brush her regularly (daily) Use a double sided grooming brush and make sure to bathe her once a month.

Also if she seems to have dry skin and sheds a lot of dust as well try giving her fish oil pills (available in any store that sells vitamins). The fish oil will improve her skin and make her shed fur easier to live with.

shave her

What can i do for a dog that sheds hair all the time.she lives inhouse?

The FurMinator. I have one and they work

Zoomgrooms are good for short haired breeds

What can i do for a dog that sheds hair all the time.she lives inhouse?

In addition to brushing there are food additives and special shampoos that might work. Check out the local pet supply shop.

What can i do for a dog that sheds hair all the time.she lives inhouse?

alright, don't laugh, BUT I have this enormous cat, a very fluffy cat that sheds. I took her to a groomer and they shaved part of her, but it came out really good. She looked like she had a mane, and some booties. It was really cute. Maybe the groomer could do something for your dog??

What can i do for a dog that sheds hair all the time.she lives inhouse?

My sister went to the vet and got these nonshedding pills for her dog and her dog doesn't shed so much anymore.

What can i do for a dog that sheds hair all the time.she lives inhouse?

1. Brush your dog once a day and use both a standard brush and an undercoat brush if your dog has more than one coat.

and...

2. Goto your local pet store (Petsmart, for example) and pick up one of the many food supplements designed to help control shedding.

Neither of these will eliminate shedding entirely, but the brushing should have the most impact. A good grooming and brushing regimine will make the dog happy and reduce the amount of fur floating around your house.

What can i do for a dog that sheds hair all the time.she lives inhouse?

First look at the food that you are feeding. Is it a high quality food for the age and type of activity your dog is involved in on a daily basis? Once this is addressed, a good daily brushing is about your only answer if the quality of food and activity is in check. I brush my dogs everyday and always get hair in the brush. It is the nature of my dogs because they are long haired dogs with very thick undercoats.

What can i do for a dog that sheds hair all the time.she lives inhouse?

There's not much you can do to change mother nature. Some things that might help lessening the effects (you may do already):

Have the dog's hair trimmed at a pet care center. Not shaved off, but trimmed really short. The dog is shedding because she is too hot. Brush your doggie regularly, daily if needed. Check at the petstores, they might have some special brushes that help get deep down and gently pull out loose hair. If your friends complain about the dog hair, remind them that it's "fur"niture.

What can i do for a dog that sheds hair all the time.she lives inhouse?

Depending on the type of coat, try the furminator. It works really well on my domestic short haired cat, but doesn't work on my pug.

http://www.furminator.com/

Some groomers have treatments that you get for your dog to decrease shedding.

Or, you can buy clothes and furniture that match your dog. I have pug colored carpet and now you never see the fur!

What can i do for a dog that sheds hair all the time.she lives inhouse?

You need to brush the dog every day, this will get the loose hair out.

You can get her groomed, and trimmed short. This will eliminate some of the problem, too.

The last thing is you can add a supplement to her food. Don't know where you are (US, UK, Canada or other), but a pet store will sell something (usually) with Linatone in it. It adds nutrients to the dog's system, and helps cut back on the shedding issue. (It takes 3-4 weeks for it to have an effect).

If you do all three, you'll cut back on the amount of fur you see around the house. However, almost ALL dog breeds shed, as do cats...as do people. I brush, give Linatone, and keep my dogs trimmed ONLY when there's no chance it's going to get cold.

I actually trim my dogs myself since all I do is a "lambcut"..basically I put a plastic "lift" on the electric clippers and go for it. You have to keep the clippers oiled and be careful not to burn them up...but it's not hard to do.

What can i do for a dog that sheds hair all the time.she lives inhouse?

Nothing!

you COULD shave her..
